The upcoming 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage has been spied testing at the Nurburgring ahead of its reveal. Aston Martin has teased the car a couple of times over the past month. These teasers suggest that the exterior design of the car won’t be dramatically different than V8-powered Vantage models, except for an extended front splitter and a fixed rear wing. However, this prototype, like one spotted in August last year, has a very aggressive bodywork.
Found at the front of this prototype are a
pair of additional side air intakes and an enlarged front splitter. The car
also features hood pins on the front clamshell, although it’s unclear if they
will be used by the production model.
Elsewhere, the car has been fitted with
flared front wheel arches and a unique set of black wheels sitting over large
brakes, which appear to be carbon ceramics. Aston Martin has also fitted this
prototype with flared rear wheel arches and made some alterations to the car’s
rear-end, including the fitment of a different bumper and a small lip spoiler.
It is understood that the new V12 Vantage
will be powered by the automaker’s 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12, rather than
a 5.9-liter naturally aspirated V12 like the previous-generation model. Some
reports claim that the car could pump out the same 690 hp and 753
Nm of torque as the limited-run Aston Martin Speedster. that production of the
Aston Martin V12 Vantage may be limited to just 299 units.
