Tata Motors has teased the arrival of the Nexon EV Max, the long-range version of India's best selling electric car. The Nexon EV Max will be launched on May 11. Ahead of its launch next week, Tata Motors has finally revealed the name the long range Nexon EV will bear. The long range electric SUV has been dubbed the Tata Nexon EV Max with X in the Max name featuring a lightning bolt edge for one end. Royal Enfield Hikes Prices Of Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twins By Up To Rs 4,681 The teaser videos make quite a few statements about the new Nexon EV Max withouht actually giving out any information. The teaser tells viewers to get ready to be moced to the max in terms of efficiency, experience and innovation.
While exact details about the powertrain
have not been released by Tata Motors, leaked RTO filings from the national
capital have revealed that the new Nexon EV Max will produce 134 bhp which is up
5 bhp from the current Nexon EV's 129 bhp output. The current Nexon EV produces
245 Nm of peak torque. What we do know is that the new Nexon EV Max is expected
to feature a 40kWh battery pack which is a significant increase from the
current electric SUV's 30.1kWh power source. The current Nexon allows for a
claimed range of 312 kilometres on a single charge but the Nexon Max is
expected to take this past the 400 kilometre mark.
The new Tata Nexon EV Max isn't expected
to change in terms of design though Tata will add the aforementioned lightning
touched MAX badges on the EV to make it stand out from its regular sibling. The
additional battery capacity is expected to eat up the space inside the electric
vehicle, though this is expected to only affect the boot which is where we
expect the extra cells to be housed. The New Nexon Max is expected to share its
regular sibling's interior options. The all-black treatement given to 'Dark'
models is also expected to be offered on the Nexon EV Max which is expected to
spawn a 'Dark' variant of its own when it arrives next week.
The teaser video does highlight a rather
interesting feature on the interior. What appears to be the gear selector seems
to now have a display on to tell driver's which mode they're in. Another
changed that has been teased has something to do with the wheels and tyres.
However, we're not sure if this is just new wheels or some lower rolling
resistance tyres or maybe even both. The Nexon EV Max is expected to get a few
more features on the inside like a sunrrof, auto dimming IRVMs and an air
purifier among others.
