Subaru has joined this year’s Tokyo salon with a new take on the Impreza designed by its STI division. For now, the only changes revealed are purely aesthetic, but more might come later.
The whole body of the car comes finished
in Sunblaze Pearl Orange with black décor all around. The latter includes a
front splitter, side sill extensions, fog light bezels, a rear spoiler and a
fake rear diffuser, among other things. The wheels are unique and also black,
and the exhaust tips are grouped at the middle of the rear bumper.
Subaru has revealed nothing about any
potential chassis and drivetrain modifications so far. It is quite possible
that the five-door hatchback will get some performance components as well,
which would allow it to slot in between the standard model and the
top-of-the-line STI versions.
The new generation debuted in the USA a
couple of months ago. On that market, the car will be obtainable with a few
flat-four engines rated up to 185 PS in tandem with a CVT.
