Aston Martin has just reminded us that the work on its mid-engined Valhalla hypercar was still in progress. Judging by these official photos of a disguised pre-production example, the car will receive a distinct body kit looking neither like that of its concept version dating back to 2019 nor like that of its more recent prototypes. We will take a closer look later this year when the shipments begin. In the meantime, the latest prototype has been running Silverstone laps wearing a revised front bumper with redesigned side winglets, new side panels and lights sporting different light signatures.

There is also no missing the impressively large rear wing and openable window sections – the windows themselves are apparently plastic. It is possible that the car shown here is a track-only version. If so, it might get released with the marque’s traditional AMR Pro badge on it.

It is already official that the Valhalla will rely on a turbocharged 4.0-liter Mercedes-AMG V8 and three electric motors for propulsion. Their combined output will roughly amount to 1,014 PS. The hypercar is expected to sprint 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and ultimately reach 350 km/h. The production run will be capped at 999 units. Marketed as a junior cousin of the Valkyrie, the Valhalla should end up slightly less expensive in comparison. That’s not saying much, though, given that the company’s current flagship starts from US$ 3,000,000.
