Jiyue, a car brand co-founded between Geely and Baidu, has posted some technical specifications of its upcoming electric liftback, the 07. There will be two powertrain and two battery options to choose from. The car rides on the same Geely SEA architecture as Geely’s numerous other models, including all Zeekr models, the recent Volvo EX30, and the Jiyue 01. The model 07 even gets the same engine selection as the 01. Earlier rumors had claimed it would be called ‘Jiyue 02’, but the company chose to skip from 01 straight to 07 for some reason.

In its bare-bones version, the liftback uses a single electric motor with 272 PS and 343 Nm of torque. The battery is fairly large at 71.4 kilowatt-hours. The higher trims will get dual motors rated at 544 PS and 686 Nm of torque combined, as well as a 100-kWh battery pack. The ranges remain to be revealed, but we know that the Jiyue 01 gets up to 720 km per charge and sprints 0-100 km/h in 3.8 in flagship spec.

On the outside, the model number 07 looks much like its SUV cousin, but with smoother outlines and clever design decisions that actually brought the company a Red Dot Award several days ago. It also lacks door handles (relying on sensors instead) and flaunts an active spoiler at the rear end. Baidu provides it with a proprietary self-driving system that uses only cameras and radars for navigation, cutting costs on expensive LiDAR tech.

Shipping begins in mid-2024. One it reaches the showrooms, the Jiyue 07 will compete against the likes of BYD Han, Tesla Model 3, and Xiaomi SU7.
