Roding Roadster 23

The Roding Roadster 23 is a lightweight, minimalist sports car which comes from Germany.

First off, lets get the styling out of the way. It's not great. In fact it's pretty bad. It looks like the designer had a distinct hatred of curves, and a stationary box stuffed with rulers. The array of horizontal slats give the Roding Roadster 23 an Audi-esq appearance, almost as if the old-school boxy Audi Quattro had a one-night stand with a TT and bad things occurred.

However if you can forgive the styling, then the Roding Roadster 23 does have some impressive engineering on offer - for a small volume manufacturer.

The Roding Roadster 23 is a very limited edition model and only 23 are scheduled to be made. Each is a highly tuned piece of track machinery, incorporating a carbon fiber chassis, aluminium subframes, race derived engineering and a potent engine.

The Roding Roadster 23 is powered by a 300 horsepower 6-cylinder turbocharged engine which develops 400 Nm of torque. The transmission is handled by a 6-speed manual with limited slip differential. This divides the engine power between the rear wheels, increasing the available traction while accelerating. Top speed of the Roding Roadster 23 is 174 mph (280 km/h). The sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 3.9 seconds.

Every Roding Roadster 23 is manufactured by hand in a modern production process, and can be customized to the smallest detail upon request. That means that while the car is primarily intended for dominating on the track, it can also be equipped with gadgets and options which make it more comfortable and luxurious. Optional items include a high-end multimedia system, adjustable Recaro seats (in place of lightweight racing seats) and air conditioning.
