2016 Vespa GTS Super 300
Vespa is expanding its
scooter portfolio in India. The Italian scooter maker is looking at
diversifying its portfolio by entering into different scooter segments.
Vespa
has already created the 150 cc scooter segment for India and now the next step
is the 300 cc. Vespa is looking at adding a 300 cc scooter to attract scooter
buyers who need better performance. The Vespa GTS Super will be made in India
to make it affordable.
The 300 cc GTS Super comes
with ABS and ASR traction control, even a new-gen version of the multimedia
platform that is used on the Piaggio X10 armchair-style scooter. The ABS used
on this scooter is dual channel. The difference between GTS Super and GTS is
that Super gets these extra safety features. The multimedia platform collects
all the diagnostics of the Vespa 300 cc for all its trips and even when it is
parked.
The Vespa GTS 300 has been made from the GTS 350, with some changes to
the front suspension and of course a smaller engine. This engine churns about 31 bhp
of power. The Vespa GTS 300 and then the GTS 150 will be the two new scooters
for the Italian scooter maker.
The company is the first to
get premium scooters in India and it will want to dominant this segment. The
company has no plans to enter the affordable scooter segment and continue its
work in the premium scooter segment. Who knows a few years later we could see
the 946 Vespa also make its way into India.
