2017 Yamaha SCR950 Scrambler
The Yamaha SCR950 Scrambler is the
Japanese manufacturer’s newest addition to its Sport Heritage line-up. As the
name suggests, this bike is a Scrambler iteration of their versatile air-cooled
V-twin platform.
The SCR950 Scrambler gets quite a few
retro bits and pieces including old-school registration plates, a flat seat and
a short windscreen.
The engine, forks and exhaust have been
blacked out, and complement the retro paint schemes of the SCR950
Scrambler.
The spoked wheels and the belt drive
enhance the aesthetic appeal of the motorcycle, apart from serving their
function.
The button tyres, spoked wheels and the
raised handlebars bump up the SCR950 Scrambler’s ability to face some off-road
action.
The ergonomics have been revised
slightly, thanks to the wide and raised handlebars and the elongated
single-piece seat.
The SCR950 Scrambler is powered by the
same 942 cc air-cooled 60-degree V-twin engine mated to a five-speed
transmission.
The engine is enclosed in a double
cradle steel frame, which rides on 41 mm front forks and conventional dual
spring rear shocks.
The Yamaha SCR950 Scrambler comes in two
classic paint schemes, complete with contrasting pinstripes - charcoal silver
or rapid red.
