Kawasaki Versys X300
The
Kawasaki Versys X300 has been unveiled at 2016 EICMA. The Kawasaki Versys X300 has appeared right in time
to claim its share of the newly bubbling entry-level adventure motorcycle
segment across the globe.
Of course it is not alone, as the limelight is shared
by the Suzuki V-Storm 250 and the
ever intriguing BMW G310 GS. Even Honda is believed to be cooking something in
the same flavour; while we wait for Yamaha to make a statement.
The green company hasn’t revealed any technical or
well, any sort of information or communication regarding the new Versys X300,
hence we are left to speculate.
The smaller Versys is likely to be based on an
edited version of the Kawasaki Z300’s tubular chassis, with the same engine in
its womb. The specs and features of the Versys X300 would mostly be the same as
the latter’s, save for the parts that contribute to the gender-change (naked to
adventure tourer).
The Z300 is powered by a 296 cc four-stroke, DOHC,
liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 39 PS of maximum power and 27
Nm of peak torque. This engine, along with its six-speed transmission, is
already shared with the Kawasaki Ninja 300. Other parts like the fork,
monoshock and brakes are also seemingly shared. ABS is no doubt included.
