Alfa Romeo 4C “The Great
Wave“ by Garage Italia Customs
This particular Alfa
Romeo 4C isn’t a surfer’s dream, but an homage paid to Katsushika Hokusai
"The Great Wave" woodblock print.
Created by the man with
easy access to FCA’s best, Lapo Elkann and his company Garage Italia Customs,
the 4C was chosen to put the artwork in motion. Literally.
This isn’t Garage Italia
Customs’ first Alfa 4C, as the company seems to prefer the Italian small,
lightweight, rear wheel drive sports car as a canvas as its stylish,
uncluttered design seems to lends itself beautifully to artistic expression.
Garage Italia's
customized 4C will be shown at Piston Head II: Artists Engage The Automobile
inside the Venus gallery of Los Angeles from next 30th of July.
The 237 hp, 350 Nm 1.75-liter turbo four has been left well alone, unlike the interior that
has received GIC’s touch as well, carrying the same chromatic motif as its
impressive bodywork thanks to the Foglizzo leather and Japanese Denim. The same
material covers almost the entire cabin, although its contrasted by the white
leather and complemented by the Alfa’s clear-coted, yet visible carbon-fiber
tub.
