Suzuki Motor Japan has launched the sixth generation
Suzuki Wagon R range in its home market.
The new generation Suzuki Wagon R and Suzuki Wagon R
Stingray are based on the light and rigid new-generation “HEARTECT” platform
and measure 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height, and
have a wheelbase of 2,460 mm.
The 2017 Suzuki Wagon R is available with a
naturally aspirated version of the R06A 0.66-litre three-cylinder petrol engine
which produces 52 PS and 60 Nm of torque. There’s an option for a
mild-hybrid system too, in which the engine couples to a WA05A electric motor
that generates 2.3 kW (3.1 PS) and 100 Nm of torque.
The 2017 Suzuki Wagon R is available in three engine
models – a base model powered by the R06A 0.66-litre naturally aspirated petrol
engine, a mild-hybrid variant with the Wagon R mild-hybrid specifications, and
the range-topping turbocharged R06A which produces 64 PS and 98 Nm of
torque. Option for four-wheel drive is available in across the range, and the
most fuel efficient trim levels (Wagon R: Hybrid FX, Wagon R Stingray: Hybrid
X) have a fuel economy rating of 33.4 km/l (JC08 test cycle).
Noteworthy features of the 2017 Suzuki Wagon R are,
LED (low beam) headlamps, 14-inch aluminium wheels, engine push-start button,
head-up display, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt
adjust, console-mounted CVT and touchscreen infotainment system. The 2017
Suzuki Wagon R Stingray is equipped with LED (high beam and low) headlamps, LED
position lamps, LED front fog lamps, 15-inch aluminium wheels, heated door
mirror, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt adjust,
head-up display and touchscreen infotainment system.
The all-new Wagon R is available in FA, Hybrid FX
and Hybrid FZ trim levels, and the all-new Wagon R Stingray is available in L,
Hybrid X and Hybrid T trim levels.
The 2017 Suzuki Wagon R and 2017 Suzuki Wagon R
Stingray are now on sale in the country from 10,78,920 and
12,93,840 Yen respectively.
