Jaguar has teased its upcoming limited-run XE SV
Project 8 sports sedan in a quick online video, ahead of the new model’s reveal
on June 28. Based on the XE sedan, the SV Project 8 follows the F-Type Project
7 from 2014, and will become the most powerful road-legal Jaguar ever, thanks
to its 560 Hp 5.0-litre supercharged V8.
Project 8 will be a limited-run
collector’s edition – with production capped at 300 units globally – set to be
hand-made at the company’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) technical centre in
Coventry. New Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is next Collector's Edition sports car
designed, engineered and assembled by SVO.
The XE SV Project 8 can be seen, albeit briefly,
tackling the famous Nurburgring race track in Germany, hinting that the British
company could be attempting to steal the four-door production car lap record
set by the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio (7 minutes 32 seconds).
Full details of the new Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will
be revealed on June 28 with the vehicle, ahead of its “dynamic debut” at the
Goodwood Festival of Speed, which commences on June 30.
