The 2017 VW Polo‘s production at the Anchieta plant
in Brazil has commenced. Motor1 Brazil has published photos of the all-new Polo
from the production floor, a few of which show exterior and interior details of
its low-spec variant.
The low-spec 2017 VW Polo gets less stylish
double-spoke alloy wheels and misses out on the mirror-integrated turn
repeaters. On the inside, the seats look like they have fabric covers, the
analogue instrument panel has been swapped for the Active Info Display, and an
automatic climate control system is missing. The black colour theme makes the
interior quite dull.
The all-new VW Polo range in Brazil will start with
the 1.0-litre MPI three-cylinder engine. This is the same unit found in the VW
Gol and VW Voyage, with a maximum power output of 84 hp. Volkswagen will offer
this engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.6-litre MSI four-cylinder
engine is the planned mid-range option. The range-topper is the 1.0-litre TSI
three-cylinder engine producing maximum power of 128 hp. The 1.0- and 1.6-litre
engine models will have the 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, as
standard or optional.
Volkswagen will launch the 2017 VW Polo in Brazil in
November. Production of the Euro-spec version is well underway in Spain, where
the launch will take place in October.
