KTM has announced that the 2018 KTM Freeride 250 F
is arriving at dealers in Europe. The motorcycle comes with a 4-stroke 250 cc
engine and a host of other upgrades. The 2018 KTM Freeride 250 F features a
reworked composite frame, slim bodywork with a new front fender, a new
headlight mask, and a new design. The motorcycle comes with a longer steering
head for increased rigidity and stability. The light-weight materials has
brought down the weight to just 99 kg.
The 250 cc DOHC engine is shorter by 20 mm, thereby
improving the mass centralisation. Under road-legal guise, it makes 20.5 PS of
power and 18 Nm of torque. The unrestricted variant produces 26 PS and 22.1 Nm.
The latter comes with configurable power delivery and traction control, which
can be controlled via an optional switch.
Coming to the suspension bits, the front end uses a
WP Xplor inverted front fork and a WP monoshock at the rear. For braking, the
bike uses petal disc on both ends. The 21 inch front and 18 inch rear spoke
wheels are shod with Maxxis Trialmaxx knobby tyres. The fuel tank can hold 5
litres of juice.
