Renault India has revealed the Renault Captur and its specifications. Interested buyers can now pre-order their Captur for an amount of INR 25,000. Built on the Renault Duster’s B0/Logan platform, the Indian-spec Renault Captur is 4,329 mm long, 1,813 mm wide and 1,619 mm tall. Its wheelbase and ground clearance are the same as the Duster’s – 2,673 mm and 210 mm respectively. The Captur has 392 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,352 litres.

The Renault Captur has two engine options: 1.5-litre H4K petrol and 1.5-litre K9K diesel. The four-cylinder petrol engine produces 106 PS at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The four-cylinder diesel engine develops 110 PS at 4,000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. The petrol engine sends drive via a 5-speed manual transmission, while in the diesel model, there’s a 6-speed manual transmission. AMT, AT or CVT option isn’t available.

The Russian-spec Renault Kaptur is available with the LED Pure Vision full-LED headlamps. The Indian-spec Renault Captur features ‘Sparkle’ full-LED headlamps, but does have the ‘LED Pure Vision’ branding on them. Other exterior highlights include dynamic turn signals (front), Sapphire LED DRLs, satin finish skid plates, 17-inch Crystal Cut alloy wheels, Ripple tail lamps and dual-tone body colour.

Inside, the Renault Captur features LED ambient lighting, automatic climate control with surround illumination, rear air vents, 6-way adjustable ErgoDesign white leather seats, golden accents on the air vents and centre console, Infinity instrument Cluster and 7-inch ULC 3.0 infotainment system with navigation. Cruise control, parking camera, four airbags and Hill Start Assist are some of the key driver assistance and safety features.

In addition to the features above, Renault India has confirmed availability of two personalisation packs: Diamond Deck and Urban Connect, as well as a number of aesthetic and utility add-ons. The latter includes chrome embellishments, smart lighting enhancements, illuminated scuff plates, different interior finishes, roof decal options, designer mats and more.

The Renault Captur’s production at the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s plant in Oragadam has commenced. Its sales launch will take place during the festive season this year, most likely in October. Prices will start at a much higher level than the Duster’s (INR 8,42,500 onwards), though Renault has not said anything more on the pricing.
