Land Rover has officially unveiled the facelifted
Range Rover Sport. Looking instantly recognizable, the updated model has been
equipped with a new front bumper, a revised grille, and Matrix Pixel LED
headlights.
The styling changes continue in the cabin as there's
a new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with two 10-inch touchscreen displays.
Other changes include additional charging ports and the availability of an
Activity Key which enables owners to lock and unlock their vehicle without the
need to carry a key fob.
Also, there's a new plug-in
hybrid variant called the P400e. It features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol
engine and a 13.1 kWh lithium-ion battery which powers an electric motor. This
setup enables the model to produce a combined maximum output of 404 PS and 640 Nm of torque. In terms of performance, the Range Rover
Sport P400e can accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 6.3 seconds before hitting a top
speed of 220 km/h. The battery enables the model to travel up to 51 km on electricity alone and can be recharged in as little as 2 hours
and 45 minutes.
Elsewhere, the SVR variant has been given a modest
performance boost as its supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine now produces 575 PS. Thanks to the extra power, the sportiest Range Rover Sport rockets
from 0-96 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
The 2018 Range Rover Sport will be launched in the
United Kingdom early next year and pricing starts at £ 61,315. The P400e begins
at £ 70,800 while the SVR is a wallet busting £ 99,680.
