Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd. (SMIPL) has
announced that it will be showcasing 17 products at the Auto Expo in the
country next month. Among them will be the 2018 Suzuki RM-Z250.
The 2018 Suzuki RM-Z250 comes under the brand’s RM-Z
series of motorcycles that are for closed-course competition use and related
practices only. The 2018 version comes with new competition inspired body panel
colours, graphics and seat colour, similar to its bigger cousin, the 2018
RM-Z450.
The motocross machine uses a 249 cc 4-stroke DOHC
mill with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine works in unison with a
5-speed transmission. Coming to the electronics, the Japanese bike maker has
equipped the bike with Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC). It is a
selectable launch mode system derived from the factory race bike. There are
three modes from which the riders can choose as per their skill level and
starting conditions.
Suspension components include adjustable upside down
front fork with pneumatic spring; and a link-type monoshock with adjustable
spring preload. The tank can hold 6.5 litres of fuel, and the bike weighs 106
kg, kerb. For braking, it uses petal disc on both ends. The spoke wheels are
shod with Dunlop MX52 series tires. The tires feature CTCS (Carcass Tension
Control System) technology for maximum rigidity and grip.
