The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 has been spotted
testing again in Europe. The bike was spied for the first time in May, last
year. Unlike last year’s test mule, this motorcycle
features slightly different design. The wheels are alloy and are shod with
block-pattern tyres. The design of this test mule is more in line with
the concept version Husqvarna displayed at the 2017 EICMA show in November. The
seat is flat, and the footpegs are rear-set.
Motorcycle News (MCN) reports that the front might
be an 18-inch wheel; and that the bike is likely to employ the Vitpilen 701’s
mill. The KTM 690 Duke-derived 692.7 cc single cylinder mill with liquid
cooling and fuel injection makes 74.7 PS. Peak torque of 72 Nm comes in at 6,750
rpm. The motorcycle will reportedly feature a quick shifter, auto-blipper, and
traction control.
Suspension bits include WP upside-down front fork,
and WP link-type monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle comes to a halt using
disc brake on both ends, with dual-channel ABS. MCN reports that the production
version is likely to be unveiled in November, this year, and will enter the
market in Spring 2019. The price tag will reportedly be similar to Vitpilen
701, which costs GBP 8,899.
