The Suzuki Gixxer ABS has been spied in the country
for the first time. The bike employs a single-channel ABS, just like the Gixxer
SF.
Autocar India reports that the bike is likely to be
launched enter the market by April-end or in early May. As per the media house,
the ABS version of the Gixxer will command an extra cost of around INR 6,500
over the standard variant. At present, the Suzuki Gixxer is available in two
options – rear drum and rear disc. The former costs INR 77,015, while the
latter will set you back by INR 80,929. The rear disc brake variant is likely
the one which will get the single-channel ABS option. The only other
ABS-enabled rival in the 150cc naked commuter segment is the newly launched
2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R.
The mechanicals is likely to remain the same as the
2018 Suzuki Gixxer. The 154.9 cc single cylinder mill is good for 14.8 PS at
8,000 rpm, and 14 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem with a 5-speed
gearbox. The spy pictures indicate that the ABS variant will be available in
all the three colours as the standard variant, namely: Metallic Triton Blue;
Glass Sparkle Black, and Candy Sonoma Red.
