Toyota will unveil the new Arctic Trucks HiLux AT35
at the 2018 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, UK on April 24, with sales
to follow shortly after.
The new Hilux AT35 is the latest product of the
long-standing collaboration between Toyota and Arctic Trucks and its debut
coincides with the 50th anniversary of the popular pickup truck.
HiLux AT35 will be available to both
private and commercial customers across the UK, through the company’s official
dealer network. The conversion is fully approved by Toyota, meaning the new
model comes with the same five-year/100,000-mile warranty as the regular HiLux
models.
Toyota and Arctic Trucks achieved widespread
recognition through Top Gear’s expedition to the magnetic North Pole. The two
companies have established multiple world firsts in both the Arctic and the
Antarctic.
The new Toyota HiLux AT35 features 35-inch all-terrain
tires, model-specific suspension that allows a secure ride and handling, as
well as a fairly obvious 25 percent more ground clearance. As with every HiLux
sold in the UK, the only engine option is a 148 hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder
diesel mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
