TeamBHP member has snapped these images
of a Tata Harrier prototype testing near the company's facility in Pune,
Maharashtra. The spy shot of the front clearly shows that Tata hasn't deviated
from the concept H5X's design with the thin lighting element accompanied by
another cluster positioned below it which appears to house a projector lens and dynamic bending reflector lens.
The first product on the Omega platform, the Harrier will launch in the last
quarter of this financial year. Power for the SUV will come from FCA's
2.0-liter Multijet II four-cylinder diesel engine with a reported output of 140
hp. Tata will offer the choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a Hyundai-sourced
6-speed torque converter automatic on the Harrier. The automatic box is likely
the same found on the Hyundai Creta AT.
Spy shots have confirmed features such as cruise
control, a large digital multi-information display, a touchscreen entertainment
system with Bluetooth support, automatic climate control and a Land
Rover-inspired terrain selector knob indicating that AWD could be offered on
the higher variant of the Harrier.
Prices for the Harrier are expected to start in the
region of INR 12 lakhs, ex-Showroom, pitting it against the Hyundai Creta, the
base variant of the Jeep Compass, and the Mahindra XUV500.
