Piaggio India has launched the new Vespa Notte 125. Priced at INR 68,829 (ex-showroom, Pune), the model seems to be inspired from the Vespa GTS Notte available in the global markets.

'Notte' is Italian speak for 'night', and as suggested by this, the new model features a blacked-out bodywork. Unlike the VXL 125, which carries several chrome appliques, the new model has an all-black colour scheme that's utterly devoid of anything else.

The Vespa Notte 125 is powered by a 124.49 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces a maximum power of 9.5 PS @ 7,250 RPM and a peak torque of 9.9 Nm @ 6,250 RPM. Braking is courtesy of a 150 mm drum at the front wheel and a 140 mm unit at the rear. The model has a fuel tank of 8-litres.

The mobile connectivity package that has been launched on the 150cc range of Aprilia and Vespa scooters is available as an option on the Vespa Notte 125. The option pack includes GPS information, emergency contact details and the ability to locate nearby service centres. Another highlight of the mobile connectivity features is a panic alert feature that allows the user to send his or her current location to registered contact numbers in case of an emergency. A 'find-me' feature that is part of this module helps the user locate his vehicle, for example when the surroundings are dark.
