Honda has released more details on the 2019 CR-V
Hybrid, ahead of its 2018 Paris Auto Show debut, including its fuel economy
figures. Measured under the revised NEDC cycle, the front-wheel drive model of
the petrol-electric SUV offers an average fuel economy of 5.3 l/100 km (53.3
mpg UK / 44.4 mpg US), and emits 120 g/km of CO2. The all-wheel drive version
returns 5.5 l/100 km (51.4 mpg UK / 42.8 mpg US) and CO2 emissions of 126 g/km.
Both versions are
powered by a 2.0-liter i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle engine and two electric motors.
The hybrid powertrain is married to a single fixed-gear ratio and is backed up
by a lithium-ion battery pack, with a combined output of 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque. Drivers will get to select between three
driving modes, called EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive.
Joining the CR-V Hybrid at the car show
will be the regular versions of the SUV, including a seven-seat option. These
will also be celebrating their European show debut, emphasizing their new
exterior styling, interior updates and numerous advanced technologies. The 2019 Honda CR-V is available
with a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine, but the range will be extended next spring with
units such as the 1.5-liter VTEC turbo and the 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel.
Honda’s final premiere for the 2018 Paris Auto Show
is called the Civic Type R ArtCar Manga. Created in collaboration with Japanese
design school Human Academy based in France, it’s described as having “a truly
bespoke appearance” thanks to its full-car wrap.
The one-off version of the hot hatch will be presented
alongside the Sport Plus model of the regular Civic.
