According to a report from Thrustzone, the Bajaj
Pulsar 180F has been launched in India, priced at INR 86,500 (ex-showroom). The Bajaj Pulsar 180F gets the
semi fairing from its elder sibling, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F. Other updates to the
motorcycle include the neon paint scheme and the new engine belly cowl.
The Bajaj Pulsar 180F has been introduced to plug
the small gap between the naked Pulsar 180 and the Pulsar 220F. At INR 86,500
(ex-showroom), the Pulsar 180F is only INR 1,500 more than the Pulsar 180 and
INR 12,200 less than the 220F.
That said, the Bajaj Pulsar 180F won’t sport
mechanical changes. The motorcycle is powered by a 178.6cc 2-valve, air-cooled
DTS-i motor that produces 17 bhp of max power at 8500 and a peak torque of
14.22 Nm at 6500. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. The Pulsar
180F uses the braking hardware of the naked sibling with a 260 mm front disc and
a 230 mm rear disc, while single-channel ABS is standard. The motorcycle rides
on 17-inch alloys that wrap on a 120-section rear and 90-section front tubeless
tyres.
No doubt the introduction of the Bajaj Pulsar 180F
marks a new chapter in the Indian market, as no player fields a faired
motorcycle in the 180cc segment. And here is another attempt by Bajaj Auto to
revive the Pulsar 180’s fortunes.
