Cadillac has announced the 2020 XT6 will be priced
from US$ 53,690 (including destination charges). Set to go up for order later this
month, the XT6 Premium Luxury FWD costs US$ 11,000 more than the XT5 but US$ 22,800
less than the Escalade. More importantly, the model costs significantly more
than rivals such as the Infiniti QX60 (US$ 45,245) and Lexus RX 350L (US$ 48,895).
While the pricing is ambitious, the XT6 does come
standard with LED lighting units and 20-inch wheels. The model also has a heated
leather steering wheel, wood trim and an UltraView power sunroof. Other
highlights include a wireless smartphone charger and a seven seat interior with
a power-folding third row.
Buyers will also find an extensive list of driver
assistance systems. These include automatic emergency braking, forward
collision alert, front pedestrian braking and rear cross traffic alert. The
crossover also has park assist, a rearview camera, lane keep assist with lane
departure warning and lane change alert with side blind zone alert. Customers will be able to order a
Driver Assist Package which adds adaptive cruise control, an enhanced automatic
emergency braking system and seat belts which automatically tighten if an
impact is imminent.
Cadillac will also offer an Enhanced Visibility and
Technology Package which adds a color head-up display, a rear camera mirror and
an 8-inch display in the instrument cluster. The package also includes a
surround vision system, rear pedestrian alert and automatic parking assist.
Buyers looking for something more aggressive can
order the XT6 Sport which starts at US$ 58,090. It features unique styling
details, carbon fiber trim and a standard all-wheel drive system. The model
also has an active sport chassis with continuous damping control. Both models are powered by a
3.6-liter V6 engine that produces an estimated 310 hp and 373 Nm of torque. It is connected to a nine-speed automatic
transmission.
