Remember Lamborghini’s Terzo Millennio Concept? It was built in partnership with MIT and it was supposed to represent an all-electric supercar with an ultra-lightweight structure and a very aerodynamic exterior.

This one named the Raton, is apparently even more extreme, or at least that’s how its creator, Davide Pellicciari, sees it. His goal was to draw up something that would represent a new breed of race car, one that employs groundbreaking aerodynamic and mechanical solutions.

The Raton’s active aerodynamics are managed automatically by the car using sensors, making sure it sticks to the road under high-speed cornering. The next-gen wheels help with that too, as they feature a “mixture of magnetic components, charged electrostatic and magnetically.” We’re not exactly sure how that would work, but it sounds very sci-fi.


Another really interesting feature is the texture applied to the body of the vehicle, which is said to illuminate and change color so as to indicate a fault or even warn surrounding race drivers of potential hazards. Which, come to think of it, is not such a bad idea, as it could help avoid many pile-ups.

As for the way it looks, it doesn’t actually have much in common with the Terzo Millennio Concept. Aside from its massive wheels, the Raton almost looks like a next-gen F1 car with trick wheels and without a rear wing.
