The popularity of
the Toyota Prius is undisputable, and with so many units sold all over the
world, it’s no surprise that some owners want to personalize them. And if a
very flashy look is on their bucket list, then Liberty Walk is the tuner to go
to.
The Japanese
company has come up with a very OTT package for the latest Prius, which is
bound to make it more noticeable. The upgrade kit eschews the usual bolt-on
fenders that the tuner has gotten us used to and adds new front and rear
aprons, side skirts, window wind deflectors and a ducktail spoiler.
The front and rear
spoilers and side skirts cost a (pricey) US$ 2,500 – but add the wheels, and
you’re looking at US$ 4,580. Going for the complete look requires US$ 5,070. And
that’s not all, because Liberty Walk is also offering a coilover suspension,
which costs US$ 1,700, and an air suspension that, at US$ 7900, is the most
expensive item here.
In spite of the
mean look, this Prius sports no power upgrades, as the Japanese tuner’s work
concerns the exterior. Thus, this is an all show, no-go thing; but then again,
messing with Toyota’s hybrid powertrain wouldn’t be an easy feat, maybe it’s
better that way.
