The 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 that is said to be
launched in India on 20 August has been spied up close in South Korea. The test
mule seen here is equipped with projector headlamps and LED fog lamps, features
that may or may not be offered in India.
The latest spy shot gives a close look at the
front-end of the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10. The redesigned model appears to have
sleeker headlamps, new Cascading grille and vertical black inserts on the outer
ends of the sportier bumper. The fog lamps, like on the second-gen i10 sold in
Europe, are positioned on the upper corners of the radiator grille.
In terms of dimensions, the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10
will be more or less be of the same footprint as the outgoing model. It will be
underpinned by the same platform as the Hyundai Venue - K1. Unlike in the
second generation, there will be only one standard wheelbase version sold
worldwide. Apparently, for Europe, this means a less aggressive kick in the
beltline, while for India and other markets where the LWB (Grand) i10 is sold,
it's the opposite case and this leads to a sportier profile.
On the inside, the next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 will
feature a newly designed dashboard, steering wheel and centre console. Also, it
will be equipped with an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto
and Apple CarPlay connectivity and will also carry Blue Link connected car
functionality as seen on the recently launched Venue.
In India, the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will be offered
with the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine and the 1.2-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine.
The engines will work with a standard transmission 5-speed manual or an
optional 5-speed automated manual transmission and will be BS-VI compliant from
the beginning. Furthermore, there reports suggest that a 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol
engine along with a 7-speed DCT will also be offered.
