Honda has updated the 5-door Civic hatch for the 2020 model year, giving it a slight exterior makeover while also adding new interior trim, a revised Sport grade, plus additional tech such as the upgraded Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Prices start from US$ 21,650 for the entry-level LX and run as high as US$ 28,850 for range-topping Sport Touring.

Styling-wise, the revamped Civic gets new lower bumper fog light housings, which now come with a body-color crossbar. Also new is the Honda signature ‘wing’ grille crossbar, while the headlights now come with a sporty blackout treatment.At the rear, the lower bumper openings were revisited as well, mirroring the changes that took place at the other end. Meanwhile, all trims feature new wheel designs (either grey or black), with Sport Touring versions boasting improved LED headlights with wider and longer light beams.


Inside, the 2020 Civic 5-door boasts new dashboard trim, with Sport versions rocking a geometrical pattern, whereas LX and EX models get a new painted pattern, while EX-L and Sport Touring feature an exclusive brushed black treatment.

Other upgrades include an 8-way power driver’s seat for the EX trim, which also receives a new leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. On Sport Touring models, HomeLink is now available at no extra cost, while the six-speed manual transmission is available with the standard 1.5-liter turbo four. Furthermore, all versions benefit from additional sound insulation in the floor, trunk and front and rear fenders.


In the Sport and Sport Touring, apart from the previously-mentioned 7-inch Display Audio system, standard equipment includes Smart Start push-button ignition and Smart Entry keyless entry, Remote Start, new seat upholstery and a new embossed dash trim, with the Sport Touring also offering customers the option of choosing a CVT automatic transmission.
