The 2020 Tata Nexon has been spied for the first
time. The facelifted model features a thoroughly redesigned front fascia to
look more imposing. The Tata Nexon has a very masculine stance but the rounded elements
at the front and the silhouette when it was unveiled suggested that the company
is unable to move past the aged Tata Indica-esque theme. However, the IMPACT
Design 2.0 design language has proved that it can, and learnings from it will
be used for refreshing the Tata Nexon.
The new Tata Nexon flaunts bi-beam automatic
headlamps that are angular and feature LED DRLs, a sharp new radiator grille
and chunkier fog lamp housing. The bonnet is also new and seems to have an
edgier design. The lower grille doesn’t look all that different, but it also is
new, and so is even the front bumper. Colour options will be available for the
new radiator grille, and one of them will be white. Inside, there will be a new
steering wheel and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system in the 2020 Tata
Nexon. New features will include rain-sensing wipers and a factory-fitted
sunroof as well.
The 2020 Tata Nexon will be available with the 1.2L
Revotron petrol and 1.5L Revotorq diesel engines of the outgoing model.
However, these engines will have been upgraded to conform to the stricter,
BS-VI emission norms for the new model. The transmission choices will be the
same: 6-speed manual and 6-speed automated manual. A pure electric variant will
follow a few months later.
The 2020 Tata Nexon will likely be launched in India
in early 2020. Tata Motors is readying a facelift for the Tiago and the Tigor
as well. The company’s next launch will be the Altroz.
