The Maruti S-Presso has been spied once again ahead
of its official launch on 30 September 2019. This is going to be Maruti
Suzuki's first new entry-level car in 7 seven years and it will retail
alongside the Alto K10 in the company's line-up.
The Maruti S-Presso features with a very fairly
rugged design. It has a high-raised, flat bonnet which comprises squarish
headlamps and Maruti Vitara Brezza-inspired grille at the front. Though the
headlamp units are halogen to keep the costing under check, it gets LED strip
fog lamps in the higher-spec models. Other than that, the black plastic
cladding all around along with the blacked-out bumpers gives it a slightly
muscular appeal.
Previous report revealed that it will be made
available in a total of nine configurations including STD (O), LXi, LXi (O),
VXi, VXi (O), VXi +, VXi AGS, VXi (O) AGS, VXi+ AGS. Its top-spec VXi+ variants
will be kitted with features such as 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment
system with voice recognition, steering-mounted audio controls, rear parcel
tray, body-coloured ORVMs and door handles and a 12V-volt accessory socket. The
lower-spec variants will utilize tiny 13-inch wheels, while the higher-spec
ones will roll on bigger, 14-inch wheels and will also come with wheel covers.
In terms of dimensions, the upcoming Maruti S-Presso
measures 3,665 mm in length, 1,520 mm in width and 1,549 mm (with 13-inch
wheels)/1,564 mm (with 14-inch wheels) in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,380
mm, and its gross weight is 1,170 kg. It will pack safety features such as ABS,
driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminders and a speed alert
system as standard. Under the hood, it will have a BS-VI K10B 1.0-litre petrol
K10B engine tuned to delivers 68 PS power and 90 Nm torque.
The engine will be
mated to a standard 5-speed MT or an optional 5-speed AMT. Expect Maruti Suzuki
to introduce a CNG powered S-Presso at a later stage.
