Yamaha has expanded its three-wheeled product portfolio with the Tricity 300 at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. The 46th iteration of the motoring event witnessed the unveiling, while the finer details and mechanical specifications will be revealed at the upcoming EICMA motorcycle show. The three-wheel design was first seen on the 2019 Yamaha Niken Sport Touring Motorcycle.

The new Yamaha Tricity 300 matches the theme of the Japanese brand’s stall at the motoring event –"There Is Greater Joy Yet to Come — ART for Human Possibilities." The new scooter displays Yamaha's Leaning Multi-Wheelers (LMW) technology.

The company has used its learnings from the Tricity 125 and NIKEN Leaning Multi-Wheel (LMW) models to create the Tricity 300. Based closely on the 3CT prototype, the new scooter will target the top end of the market. Yamaha claims to offer best-in-class specification, competitive price and unrivalled quality.

The company plans to revitalise the Urban Mobility segment with the new Tricity 300. The scooter will be sold in several European markets. The new Tricity 300 will be accessible to 'B' licence car drivers in the European market. The vehicle is equipped with a 'BLUE CORE' engine. The finer specifications, as mentioned above, will be available in November – at the EICMA motorcycle show. Yamaha states that the Tricity 300 will give a natural and confident cornering character, and better traction even on wet or slippery surfaces.

The Tricity 300 will be available in three colour options – Tech Kamo, Nimbus Grey and Matt Grey. The three-wheeled scooter looks absolutely stunning. However, it will not be coming to the Indian market, not at least in the foreseeable future.
