Audi
is allegedly prepping a five-door coupe variant of the A3 positioned
more squarely against Mercedes‘ CLA, but
we’re here mostly to talk about the 4-door sedan, thanks to this recent
rendering by Kolesa. It
will feature the brand’s big Singleframe grille flanked by large
boomerang-style headlights and sharply-designed tail lights with angular
signature graphics.
We
think the render is fairly accurate, although the fenders appear to be a little
more flared in the prototype, which we expect will give the car a more
visually-aggressive stance – something Audi is apparently looking for in every
single one of their new-generation models.
We’ve
also had a sneak peek inside the A3’s interior with spy images showing a
surprisingly (and literally) edgy dashboard design incorporating a large
instrument cluster and infotainment displays, the latter being angled towards
the driver. As for
tech, the all-new A3 will feature the same MQB Evo architecture as the Golf
Mk8, which allows for mild hybrid as well as plug-in hybrid powertrains.
With
Audi likely to unveil the all-new 5-door A3 hatch at the Geneva Motor Show in
March, this sedan version should arrive sometime afterwards, along with the
previously-mentioned five-door coupe variant.
