Students from the Espera Sbarro school in Montbéliard, France have unveiled the new Saetta concept on Facebook. Originally slated to debut in Geneva, the Saetta is a stylish single seat racer that features flowing bodywork and an open cockpit.

The school is keeping details under wraps, but the concept has an aerodynamic front fascia that apparently channels air underneath the hood to generate additional downforce. The track-focused design is visible elsewhere as we can see aerodynamic side skirts and vents above the front wheels. Air is also directed around the cockpit and into two large intakes which reside on either side of the driver.

Other notable features include a minimalist windscreen and a roll bar that is integrated into the design of the vehicle. We can also see an exposed rear end and OZ Racing wheels wrapped in Michelin tires. Little else is known about the car, but construction pictures suggest the Saetta has a tubular chassis and a lightweight fiberglass body. We can also see what appears to be Maserati-sourced engine, but there’s no word on performance specifications at this point.

However, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out as the school teased “See you soon.” In the meantime, we’ll remind about past Sbarro concepts such as the Mojave and Evoluzione. The latter was a Lamborghini-inspired roadster that was powered by a Audi-sourced 1.8-liter turbo engine that developed 178 hp. The Mojave, on the other hand, was a modern day hot rod with a Jaguar-sourced 4.0-liter V8 pumping out 290 hp.
