The all-electric Peugeot e-Expert van will be getting a fuel cell version late this year, which will be rated at 400 km of range in Europe and aimed at the needs of commercial clients. The production will take place in Valenciennes, France, from where the company will send every car to the Stellantis special vehicle center in Rüsselsheim, Germany for finalization. Sales should begin towards the end of the year.
According to Peugeot, refueling the hydrogen car takes only three minutes. The gas is stored inside pressurized carbon tanks under the floor. Powertrain specifications are unknown at this time, but the technologically similar Opel Vivaro-e Hydrogen gets 136 PS and 260 Nm out of its electric motor. The fuel cell system resides under the hood and contributes another 61 PS. The traction battery can store up to 45 kWh of power.
The interior looks standard e-Expert fare. A 3.5-inch dashboard display shows the main real-time information, whereas the infotainment display measures seven inches across.
