Starting today, customers in Europe may order their Arkana SUV in two modifications: TCe 140 EDC and E-Tech Hybrid 145. The latter is new and incorporates a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine along with an electric motor, a starter-generator and a small 1.2-kWh battery for 145 PS in total.

The hybrid is ‘mild’, which means no charging, but can still roll as far as three kilometers in all-electric mode. Fuel consumption averages at 4.8 liters per 100 kilometers, although Renault does not specify the cycle for some reason. Another version named the TCe 160 will arrive on the market in July, representing a micro-hybrid powered by a 12V on-board grid. This version will pack around 160 PS.

As far as pricing is concerned, the E-Tech Hybrid 145 starts from € 31,200 in France.
