James Glickenhaus, founder and general manager of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, has revealed new details about his upcoming ‘wallet-friendly’ dune buggy called the SCG 008.
As it turns out, the all-terrain vehicle
still lands precariously close to the supercar territory with a starting
sticker of US$ 100,000. It comes with a host of optional off-road upgrades and
will take part in the formidable Baja 1000 rally. Glickenhaus promised to post
more photos soon.
Those interested in purchasing the vehicle
are invited to make a US$ 1,000 deposit right now. Technical details are still
unknown, but the platform the company uses for the project is originally
designed for a 2.2-liter EcoTec engine and Sadev transmission. If proven true,
the SCG 008 may arrive to the market packing 147 PS and 210
Nm of torque, which is plenty considering its low curb weight of
635 kilos.
