Livan – a new car brand co-founded by Geely and Lifan Technologies – has brought its first two concepts to the Chongqing Auto Show. Called ‘7’ and ‘9’, both support quick battery swap and are expected to have up to 750 km of CLTC-rated range.

The smaller, coupe-like Livan 7 will be known as Ruilan on its domestic market. It is marketed as an affordable electric crossover and is 4.2 meters long. The driving range varied between 550 and 750 km depending on the battery installed and the drive type. The top spec is expected to sprint 0-100 km/h in less than five seconds.

The Livan 9 has no technical parameters to it yet, but looks ready for production with its normal side mirrors instead of video cameras, novelty headlights, multi-tier front end and sculpted sides. mBoth models share the same platform designed exclusively for electric cars. The platform supports rapid battery swapping (one minute at a dedicated station).

The production is set to begin in 2023. Livan says it hopes to introduce ‘up to six’ new cars over the coming three years.
