Lynk & Co, a brand co-founded between Geely and Volvo, has confirmed the upcoming production launch of 07 EM-P, a mid-size sedan with a petrol-electric powertrain. The first teaser of the car has just been shared by the company CEO on Weibo, Car News China reports. The production is scheduled for February 2024.
The car, which used to be known
unofficially as the L743, is currently running road tests in dense camouflage.
Based on the pics available thus far, it has the company’s trademark vertical
DRLs, a gently sloping roof, pronounced fenders and a rear spoiler. The company
confirmed that it would look in line with its current design language. This may
mean that the model is based on the Lynk & Co Next Day Concept from the
last year.
It is official that the sedan is based on
the CMA 2.0 platform, same as the Lynk & Co 08 SUV. The letters ‘EM-P’
indicate the automaker’s proprietary plug-in hybrid powertrain composed of an
engine and two e-motors. The 1.5-liter turbo petrol unit charges the battery,
while a DHT Pro three-speed transmission carries the torque to the wheels. The
resulting AWD system makes 544 PS and 900 Nm of
torque in the 08 SUV. It remains to be seen how powerful the sedan will be.
